CARING

Learn how Bella, a dog whose original owners did not take care of her, learns what caring is about through the help of Booger and her new family. Building Character with Booger and Bella: Caring teaches how to think of others’ welfare above oneself. An educator and promoter of morals and ethics to schools, Larisa Coffman changes the way caring should be taught to kids.

About the Author

Larisa Coffman has been an educator for over 18 years. During those years, she observed that there are children who lack positive character traits. Her desire to teach the students character education led her to write her books about her pet dogs, Booger and Bella.

LOYALTY

I’ve heard the term “loyalty,” but I didn’t know what it meant, what it looked like, or what it smelled like. I had hoped that it would be a bone with some meat still on it and a big red ribbon around it. Yummy! Bring on the loyalty! However, I quickly found out that loyalty is not something you can sink your teeth into. You can’t smell it or even see it.

CARING

My name is Booger Coffman. Yep . . . that’s right. Booger. You may laugh at that name, but I think it’s the coolest name EVER!

I used to talk about not caring if I had food or not caring if people liked me, but it isn’t true. I do care! I care about protecting my house, my yard, my family.

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. Caring was not something she knew much about.
